A day dedicated to children. Visit us at CIS!
The CIS organises two days for children as we believe that visiting our centre allows them to learn about the resources of the region and the possibilities that using these resources offers the Valley. We give them the opportunity to try their hand at stonemasonry.
Short Power Point presentation in the exhibition hall on rocks, marble and its origin
Meeting with an artist in residence who explains his work, the tools used in the artistic creation and then watching him at work (with appropriate safety distances)
The children work as stonemasons on pieces of marble with hammer and chisel (protective equipment such as goggles and gloves is provided). A station is prepared for this activity and the children take turns doing the activity.
Handing out of souvenirs such as pieces of rough marble from the artists' discards
Recommended age for visit: 8-15 years old
Timetable: 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Maximum group size: 20 people
